Novak Djokovic is GQ’s Ace of the Year.

Novak Djokovic Strikes a Pose With the U.S. Open Trophy (GQ/Peggy Sirota).

It took a few days, but once again Novak Djokovic is back in the spotlight of not just the tennis world but all over the world as his stellar accomplishments all season have earned him a place in GQ Magazine’s Annual Men of the Year awards.

Djokovic was dubbed “Ace of the Year” by the magazine for not only claiming the No. 1 ranking and three Majors this year, but also for the way his almost perfect season shook up the sport and broke through the hegemony of the Roger Federer/Rafael Nadal rivalry that had dominated for so long.

Djokovic joins other athletes including Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose and Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius along with Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, Mila Kunis, Kristen Wiig and the cast of Breaking Bad who were described as “Badasses of the Year” which in my household they certainly are, and many more.

No word yet if Djokovic’s tan visage will be gracing the cover of select GQ mags when they hit the stands in December, but for all Nole has accomplished for himself and the attention he has brought to the sport, he certainly deserves it.
