Six-time U.S. Open Champion Chris Evert may want to consider wearing extra padding next time she steps on a court as today she apparently got hit in the bum by her doubles partner ESPN’s Mike Greenberg during their opening round mixed doubles match today as part of the US Open National Playoff eastern qualifier at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.

Despite losing 6-1, 6-4 to 2002 NCAA singles champion Beatrix Beilik and former college standout Darrin Cohen, at least Evert and Greenberg could laugh about this awkward moment.

The U.S. Open National Playoffs kicks off this week with mixed doubles teams across the country competing for a main draw wildcard berth into this year’s U.S. Open.
