Is Andy Roddick Playing London?

I’ve been asked several times by readers if Andy Roddick will play the Barclays ATP Finals in London coming up in a few weeks. The official answer now is yes even though he is still recovering from a knee injury he suffered in Shanghai.

Roddick has been MIA since he lost third round in the U.S. Open to John Isner but if one follows his Twitter posts, he’s been keeping busy. In recent tweets, he recommended seeing the Michael Jackson documentary “This Is It”, griped about his recent fantasy football picks and gave a nice plug for ESPNZone restaurants, saying “possibly the best place ever for Sundays”.

Now I’m not going to say that Roddick’s “tweets” are a window into his mind, but it definitely seems he’s at least relaxed and enjoying himself during his rehab. He did post a week ago that “i have never been more excited to be able to jog slowly…” so that’s a good sign the knee will be ready for London.

But maybe Roddick should throw a few more “tweets” to his fans saying things like “looking forward to seeing the London draw” etc. just so we know he’s ready and serious to play. Given that that London bookmakers have Roddick at 2000-1 to win the whole thing, it certainly couldn’t hurt.

There are so many different rumours but the official tournament site still has him listed to play.
